synopsis “Garofalo firma il cinema” Project The ‘Antico Pastificio Garofalo’ began its own adventure in the world of cinema with product placement in 2005. In 2008 it chose to shoot its first short film as a producer and that is how, in collaboration with Fox Channels Italy, the noir L’ALCHIMIA DEL GUSTO came to be made, by Edo Tagliavini with Alessandro Preziosi, in 2008. 2009 saw the turn of QUESTIONE DI GUSTI, directed by Pappi Corsicato with Iaia Forte and Ennio Fantastichini. For its third short it chose up-and-coming actress Valeria Golino, first directing debut for ARMANDINO E IL MADRE, a love story taking place in the evocative rooms of the contemporary art museum in Naples’ old town. This year it made THE WHOLLY FAMILY – starring Cristiana Capotondi – entrusting the directing to internationally renowned master Terry Gilliam, thus confirming its great passion for cinema. DI LÀ DAL VETRO is its new short film. director's statement “One night, in a house in the countryside, a man wakes up to the sound of an air raid warning siren. He has already heard that same sound in the spring of ‘99 in Belgrade, when the city was bombed by planes that left from Italy. His mother also knows the siren sound that preceded the bombing of Naples. That same night the two of them get together around the kitchen table to talk about fried eggs and war, a battered heart and a travel journal with a red cover.” (Erri De Luca)
“Rendering ‘emotions’ with a short film is a difficult task: I was able to try thanks to the film and theatre experience of Isa Danieli and Erri De Luca in his debut as an actor and who plays many of the scenes using only his body, his hands, his face, his deep blue eyes.” (Andrea Di Bari)
