Danis Tanović
(Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1969) studied music, engineering and film before the Balkan War broke out in 1992. He left Sarajevo to study directing in Brussels. His documentary shorts include Portraits d’artistes pendant la guerre, L’Aube and Ça ira. He began writing his debut feature No Man’s Land in Paris. in 2001 he completed the film, which the following year won the Best Foreign Film Oscar. He followed it up with a segment in the omnibus 11’09’01 and the features Hell and Triage.
