synopsis The seasons pass at the Lavagnina Lakes. Eleven conversations as the end approaches. A trilogy on the sense of seeing: a rock, a face, the flow of life among things. “Death is exigent, it demands silence, patience, strength and meditation. A meditation that borders on fear. Fear of revealing ourselves, of discovering ourselves weak, of bowing down to destiny. I nearly abandoned [this project] out of fear a number of times. Then I realized that nothing is like death…but life itself.” (Andrea Caccia) Between life and death: time. A title, a film, that depicts three ways of living. Undefined, expanded time, when one does not feel the need to linger, such is the desire to go forward. A time, instead, when one does not want to advance anymore; the flow is ineluctable and one wants to do everything, recover even that which was thrown away. Lastly, a time for those left behind, for those who chase after the sense of the finite, with the need to create order, to memorize that which was left scattered in a garage. The cycle seems closed, were it not for a child and two masks that jump towards a new time. (Mazzino Montinari) |
