Lieven Debrauwer
He was born in Belgium in 1969. After having studied photography and cinematography he made his directorial debut in 1987 with the short film Tredici. This was followed by another eight shorts among which De bloedende ross (1988), Cat horror (1989), Burn (1990) and Leonie (1996). The latter won the Jury’s Award at Cannes in 1997 and the award for Best Belgian Short in 1996. He made his feature film debut in 2001 with Pauline & Paulette.
