First time leading star in a film, Julie Depardieu accompanied director John Lvoff in Venice for the presentation of Now and Then.
"My character is a photographer who photographs landscapes. She works for OPP, an organisation which takes photographs of the same places in the country at the same day and time every year in order to record any changes that may have taken place. In this way they are able to analyse how things evolve. This girl replaces an older photographer and as she works she gradually begins to understand her place in the world.
This is a very delicate film and a beautiful reflection on how things follow their natural course."
