worked as assistant director for, among others, Giuseppe Bertolucci, Roberto Benigni and Giulio Questi, and from 1982-83 made documentaries from the sets of films by Sergio Leone, Ettore Scola and Richard Donner. In 1990, besides shooting several shorts, he began working with the program Mixer, for which he made numerous reports. In 1991 he directed La Camera da Letto, an adaptation of the eponymous poem by Attilio Bertolucci, who stars in the film, which was presented the following year at the Venice Film Festival; as was his television film Le Strade di Princesa, in 1997. From 1999-2002 he made documentaries for RAI. In 2003 he won the Cipputi Award at the Turin Film Festival for L’Uomo Flessibile.

With a small crew I traveled up and down Italy to meet and film gay and lesbian couples who live in big cities or small towns. Couples who have been together for many years, or for much less time. Of very different ages, social and economic extractions, cultures and religions. A journey through Italy that included deviations to other European cities – Paris, Berlin and Barcelona – in search of similarities and differences, because human relationships are a combination of things influenced by the society in which they develop.
