SUB-TI COMPETITION WINNERS AT THE VENICE DAYS
24/08/2009
The winning short films of the first Sub-ti competition entitled Subtitles and Linguistic Specificities. The Practice of Film Subtitling as a Vehicle for Multiculturalism will be screened at a number of international festivals and exhibitions with which Sub-ti partners, beginning with the sixth edition of Venice Days.
The winning films are You Don’t Understand Me (Italy, 2009, 35mm, 43 sec), directed by Sara Minuti and Alice Sivo and the short animated film Kiss that Frog (Gus & Waldo) (United Kingdom, 2009 35mm, 39 sec), directed by Massimo Fenati.
Both films will be shown prior to the screenings of the films selected for the Venice Days, in order to emphasize the importance of cinema to defend cultural and linguistic specificities.
Federico Spoletti, along with the Sub-ti staff, will greet friends and colleagues to celebrate the winners of the competition on 6 September at 6:30 p.m. at the Villa degli Autori.
