VENICE DAYS DEBATE ON COPYRIGHT AND CREATIVITY. THE SIAE AWARDS CEREMONY FOLLOWED
04/09/2008
Venice Days changed their location yesterday: the Italian Space at Hotel Excelsior hosted the round table focused on COPYRIGHT BETWEEN DEMOCRACY AND CREATIVITY. Which is the copyright future, tighten between impulses of market and Internet democracy? How to protect creators without mortifying audience? Roberto Barzanti, Giorgio Assumma, Frédéric Bokobza, Sapo Matteucci, Virginia Filippi and Ferdinando Tozzi discussed these topics, giving the normative updates that new technologies impose on creativity’s protection.
The Ceremony of SIAE Awards for creativity, founded the last year in Venice in order to reward that personalities who contributed to enhance Italian cinematography in the world took place afterwards.
The award, a bronze statue designed by Roberto Joppolo representing the embrace and the collaboration between authors and editors, had been delivered this year to Paolo Sorrentino for Il Divo and to Matteo Garrone. Because of the absence of Garrone, his prize was taken by Domenico Procacci, producer of Gomorrah, founder and administrator of Fandango.
