synopsis
This tribute to poet Piero Ciampi starts with the colorful and bizarre musical group Banda Osiris, who introduce us to an ancient, abandoned theatre, a place where stories from the past and present easily intertwine. Other artists who pay homage to the poet include Nada Malanima, also from CIampi’s native Livorno; singer Gino Paoli, on the Ligurian coast; Lydia Mancinelli, in an evocative Roman salon; and iconic singer Francesco Guccini among his mountains. Ciampi is depicted through his voice and his ironic and tragic image (from the only existing films), along with stories on 1968 Rome from Ernesto Bassignano, patron of the renowned Folkstudio singer-songwriters Antonello Venditti and Francesco De Gregori as young men. Women and love are also part of the story. An actress allusively and dreamily plays out events from Ciampi’s tempestuous love life.
