Francesca Del Sette

Born in Rome July 24 1972; after classical studies leading to a degree in literature, she works as a journalist writing for important Italian magazines and newspapers.
After her studies she starts working with one goal in mind: directing.
She works for free as a volunteer on numerous sets and with differing tasks, until her meeting with Carlo Lizzani, for whom she works on the edition of his complete works Attraverso il Novecento; a work from which the intellectual friendship which marks her professional career permanently is born. From assistant director she begins, with Lizzani, to work as script supervisor, a task which she undertakes from 1998 to 2001 (with the exception of Vipera by Sergio Citti in which she works as first assistant director), with a number of directors among which, besides Lizzani himself, Renzo Martinelli, Paul Meyer, Alberto Negrin, Emidio Greco, Vittorio Sindoni, Mario Caiano.
She directs numerous short films, and finally in 2004 her first feature film, L’unica testimone, (with Franco Nero and Barbara De Rossi, score by Daniel Bacalov and produced by Gianluca Arcopinto), which is selected for the Torino Film Fest 2004.
In 2005, after a seven month experience at SAT 2000, she works on the archeological documentary Montecchio, un tesoro nascosto and directs a number of commercials.
In 2006 she dedicates herself entirely to the ambitious project of a portrait-documentary on Carlo Lizzani.
