VENICE DAYS SHIFTS INTO FOURTH
23/07/2007
Thirteen films that offer a small map of the contemporary world, its obsessions and its fracture lines. And three documentaries that are, above all, three extraordinary portraits of exceptional personalities, Carlo Lizzani, Luciano Bianciardi and the “unknown warrior” José Flores. A cinematic journey that spans four continents and 11 countries (Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Spain and the US), depicting personal unease and collective anxieties, as well as eruptions of unpredictable and highly personal humour.
Now at its fourth edition, the Giornate degli Autori – Venice Days, founded in 2004 on the Directors’ Fortnight model and artistically directed for the second time by Fabio Ferzetti, confirms its mission of discovering new talent and exploring a cinema that is increasingly more expert in defending its aesthetic and productive inventions.
