SIX FILMS OF VENICE DAYS FLY TO ISTANBUL

Six out of twelve films of Venice Days 2006 have been selected for the 26th edition of the prestigious International Film Festival of Istanbul, that takes place from March 31 to April 15 this year.
The films selected have been included in some of the principal sections of the Festival.
In the Young Masters section, that consists in the works of young directors who received critical acclaim, appreciation and awards at other big festivals with their debut or second features, are AzulOscuro CasiNegro by Daniel Sŕnchez Arčvalo and La noche de los Girasoles by Jorge Sŕnchez Cabezudo; Khadak by Jessica Woodworth and Peter Brosens and Mientras tanto by Diego Lerman are in the section From the World of Festivals, a panorama of outstanding and award-winning films screened in other leading festivals; in the section Mined Zone, that shows movies outside the mainstream, representing a challenge for their style, technique or narrative, stands Offscreen by Christopher Boe; and, finally, in the section Medscreen, for the Arab Film promotion, WWW. What a Wanderful World by Faouzi Bensaidi.
