PROJECT “100+1”: THE FIRST 100 TITLES OF THE MOVIES TO BE SAVED ANNOUNCED IN A CONFERENCE
02/04/2008
February 28, during a Conference held at the Casa del Cinema in Rome the special project “100 + 1. A Hundred Films and one Country, Italy”, launched by Venice Days and supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture and Cinecittà Holding has entered an operative phase.
In fact, after a hard work, the Experts’ Committee, coordinated by Fabio Ferzetti and composed by Gianni Amelio, Gian Piero Brunetta, Giovanni De Luna, Gianluca Farinelli, Giovanna Grignaffini, Paolo Mereghetti, Morando Morandini, Domenico Starnone, Sergio Toffetti, has presented the “list” of the first one hundred titles to save in order to let the younger people know the great movies of Italian history of cinema.
Titles have been therefore chosen following specific criteria focused on the ability of movies to narrate the life and mentality of this Country in the crucial period going from 1942 to 1978. From neo-realism to terrorism.
An “open list”, pointed out Fabio Ferzetti, which can be enriched and enlarged.
