VENICE DAYS FILMS TRIUMPH IN NAMUR

The 22nd Edition of Namur Film Festival was a triumph for the films that premiered at Venice Days.
The Golden Bayard for Best Movie was assigned to Continental, a Film Without Guns, first film by the young Canadian director Stéphane Lafleur. The prize consists of 10.000 € offered by RTBF to the film's distributor for the acquisition of TV rights, plus 7.500 € offered by the National Lottery to sustain the distribution of the film in Belgium, plus an amount from 10.000 to 40.000 € (depending on the availability of territories) offered by TV5 Monde, again for the acquisition of TV rights.
Lafleur's Continental received also 7.500 € as the winner of Victor 3D Award for the promotion of new technologies.
Under the Bombs, another film successfully screened at Venice Days 2007, directed by Philippe Aractingi, won the Prix du Jury Junior, while Saimir Guesmi the wonderful protagonist of Andalucia by Alain Gomis won the Golden Bayard for Best Actor.
