Stefano Leone
Stefano Leone was born in Pietrasanta, in Versilia. In 1995, he went to the United States to further develop his passion for music and cinematography.
In 2000, he founded the project UrbanSkin and participated on organising the retrospective on Elio Petri at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The initial question that got us going was: why aren’t Petri’s films available. Why does this filmmaker, who intelligently depicted man’s condition in the 1960s and 1970s and who has had his share of awards and recognitions, as well as criticism and slandering – seem to have disappeared from that collective memory which has become Italian cinema.
