Eduardo Mignogna

Eduardo Mignogna, as well as a film director and screenwriter, is a novelist and a poet (although he would probably prefer to invert the order of the adjectives applied). He became internationally known with the film Sol de Otoňo (Autumn Sun), 1996 awarded at San Sebastian Festival and at Goya Awards.

The Wind is the film that took me longer to make: 64 years. I have spent all my life dreaming of writing about sense of identify, guilt, justice, love and – above all – the inevitable pain that one’s mother’s death produces.
However, as contradictory as it may seem, it has never been so easy for me to write a screenplay and carry out a project. In short, technically-speaking, with The Wind I shot everything I wrote and edited everything I shot, without adding or deleting a single sequence: as easy as that.
