Thanks to A.N.A.C. and the authors of the A.P.I., and with the indispensable support of the Direzione Generale per il Cinema, the BNL and the Lottomatica - Il Gioco del Lotto, RaiSat, SIAE and the Venice Biennale, the second edition of the Giornate degli Autori –Venice Days, which can objectively be called a success, will come to a close on Satruday 10th. A success consisting of films loved by the public, press and industry, of warmth and participation of filmmakers and cinephiles alike and of those who want to discover authors' cinema, and who will be offered a chance very soon with the large number of films that will be distributed in the World after their premieres in Venice. “As always,” says the director of the Venice Days Giorgio Gosetti, “The numbers speak for themselves and are proof of the obtained result”. Here are some of these numbers:
1 – The films that have been the greatest sales successes: CRAZY from Jean-Marc Vallée, ALLEGRO from Christoffer Boe, 13 (TZAMETI) from Gela Babluani, MAN PUSH CART from Ramin Bahrani, LE PETIT LIEUTENANT from Xavier Beauvois
2 – In a little more than a week, films have found distribution in around 30 countries
3 – Four screenings “under the stars” at the Villa degli Autori
4 – The Venice Days have also organised: 1 opening party, 6 public meetings and hosted 10 cocktail parties, amongst which those for ARTE and the festivals of Rotterdam and Karlovy Vary 5 – A total of around 20.000 people have seen films from the Venice Days
6 – Over 2.000 meal have been served by the Ristorante Miron
7 – Exclusive services include: the “City Sight Seeing” buses that took the delegations to the Sala Perla every day for the official presentation of the films; Busy Bee, the innovative IT system that allows for consultation of the programme and information each films (including screenshots) on mobile phones
