2005 HIGHLIGHTS
29/04/2005
A "bunch" of 12 films from around the world to map a journey through the value of creativity: different countries’ cultural roots and innovation through cultural exchange, which grows from dialogue and the flux in society and art.

12 select films to provoke discussion: uniting authors and talent from around the world, to build a real cinema community.

The 2005 selection for "Giornate degli Autori - Venice Days" does not impose boundaries and limitations: it welcomes young filmmakers and masters alike, those captivated by experimentation, languages and cultures worldwide.

Italian and European authors are offering this common showcase, this platform for important and “necessary” cinema. Those invited are all directors who have the future of cinema at heart.

Venice is the stage during the Film Festival, from September 1 – 10, the venues being the Casiṇ (Sala Perla) and the Authors’ Villa (within a stone’s throw of the Hotel Excelsior).

No prizes, no competitions, no rivalry. However two important acknowledgements signal the pulse of innovation: the Label Europa Cinemas and the Netpac Award.
